Welcome back Brotha!

Well, so much for me writing more often on here.....school has a way of making you do things you dont want to do. Or maybe its the 6G's I drop every year to get brainwashed into being another pawn in the game while being encouraged to "find myself" and then being told that what i found isn't in tune with what society has laid out for a young black male such as myself......but thats neither here nor there lol. Lets get down to business!

So while I've been gone, The suns finally found how to win with Shaq, only to lose to the referees..scratch that..the pistons one day and then to get blown out by the Celtics. NICE!

50 cent officially buried Fat Joe and to an extension, the ENTIRE terror Squad........lol not a huge feat. If Fat Joe had the beat selection of say.......Canibus......then no one would even know who he was. period.

umm....Barack Obama gained the support of Bill Richardson to much criticism of course.....a black man and a mexican, working together.......no way.......lol, YEA  WAY. I don't know what is so surprising about his endorsing of Obama, I mean the fact that he left the Clinton party shouldn't be a huge topic, thats politics brothers and sisters. You scratch my back I scratch yours, but if i see a better back scratcher then you, I'm gonna jump on their ship. Thats how it works, plain and simple, and if it was a white guy, it wouldn't be such a big deal. But he is Mexican, a person of race seen as leaving the white man and jumping onto the minority ticket.

Please....!

Ruthless American Politics coming back to haunt those who have perfected it.

and an after thought, I hate how people are saying that they are gonna vote for Hillary just because she is married  too Bill. Thomas Jefferson's enlightened electorate theory seems like its coming to fruition..................i was just joking yall.....sadly.

And to my boy Yonny......we'll see how much of an impact "super delegates" have on the final decision, I'm already planning how I'm going to use that 50 dollars yo haha.

Lets see what else is happening.....

people just won't let 2pac rest in PEACE. LA Times ran a story citing (true or false, who knows) documents from FBI records that link P.Diddy and Jimmy Henchman to the murder. This argument has been 12 years in the making. Its obvious that the 5-0 in NY, LV, and LA (and everywhere else for that matter) just dont want people to know.....so just drop it. Its like asking who killed Kennedy really, "no body" knows.

The Roots aren't releasing Birthday Girl in America as a single after supposed fan feedback saying essentially "no we dont want none of that".....so only Europe they say will hear it as a single. oh well, it was a dope track, but thats just my opinion.....my lonely, roots music loving, little opinion...moment of silence............

ok, Im still looking forward to Rising Down though....YA BOYYYY!

ok ok this is too much for one time, ima come back later....i hope i do lol.....cus i know SOOOO many people read this :/

but before I go, I'm gonna leave you with this little tid bit.....

4000 american casualties
+probably the same coalition casualties
+COUNTLESS Iraqi, Afghani innocent casualties
= END THE WAR

DAMN IT!!!

We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident

I was watching this speech a while ago, as i was not able to catch it live becasue i had to go to class, and and could not help but share it with you all. And seeing that nobody goes to my blog (ifound20dollar.blogspot.com, shameless plug lol) at all, I thought I'd come to you guys.

Enjoy.

Speaking on Race and issues dealing with it has become almost a taboo of sorts in todays political spectrum. But Mr. Obama this morning didnt take heed to that old notion and stepped into the spotlight to confront an issue so often hushed. He, as one critic put it, said "you want to talk about race, well, bring it." He condemned the remarks made by his pastor while showing that those same comments arose from the anger built up in the depths of the African American community. While this anger is not always productive, Obama says, it is nonetheless there. Simply wishing it away and not "understanding its roots only serves to widen the chasm of misunderstanding that exists between the races." He speaks on the racial divide, the Color Line if you will, and sends out a hand to all comers in an effort to change the nation's situation, our situation. He acknowledges the fact that the country is not perfect and brings the race issue so often placed on the back burner to the forefront of the national debate. While stating that the country is in a "racial stalemate" and explaining that we can continue to see race as something other than what it really is or, we can stand up all together and say, as he put it, "Not This Time."

Nov. 4....Do the right thing.

ahhh omg wtf???

OK, this is not for the weak hearted.....or eyed for that matter. lol. But you've probably seen the picture already.......CRAZY!! huh?

This guy is getting his eye tattooed in an experiment. He had to say this about it:

I really have to emphasize again that the procedure was extensively researched and done by people who were aware of the risks and possible complications and that it should not be casually attempted. Now that this experiment has been started, please wait for us to either heal or go blind before trying it.

Haha, I would hope so, haha. I mean I've heard of crazy places to get Tat'ed up but your eyeball? come on now, I know you could have done something else with that money.......like pay for my college....or.....idk.....pay for my college?

Ahhhh November 5th baby......the day the people of this country will tell the truth YO.

a question was posed asking, can we change?

I dont get it.

So the other day i was online playing poker through one of gazillions of facebook's applications/spam generators, albeit this Texas hold-em one is pretty legit.

While i was in one of these rooms with one of my friends, something happened that was completely ridiculous. And the funny thing was....i thought it was just that one person who did this, but apparently this is a consistent theme all over the internet.

Let me set up the story for you:

In the little chat window, someone lost a lot of their chips with a reallllly wack hand. so i made a little joke about how dumb it was to do that. The losing person, then thought it was appropriate for him to go on a racially laced tirade.........excuse me????

in the span of like 2 minutes a friendly conversation turns incredibly racist. And im not gonna try and sugar coat it, these people were all white.

Now, in this supposed "progressive and modern" society, you would think that conversations like this are as close to being non-existent as possible. But as witnessed by me and my friend, are no where near being a thing of the past.

The funny thing is, that there aren't many people who would say/do anything racial in person or in front of everybody else. BUTTTT, with the cloak of the internet, they'll do anything. Now a while ago I posted a video about "e-thugin'," which was pretty funny. The sad thing is that people do actually that, and since they are in a place where they cant be traced (somewhat) they are free to say whatever they want with no consequence.

Another moment.

I was playing the game RISK online (lol, don't hate, and it was on another great facebook app.) and i was based in Africa and was reaching out into Europe.......some guy, who was then occupying Europe decided to start saying that i was a "nigger spreading aids around the world"................pause.................

wow.

With recent events, its very hard to keep thinking that society has moved past the problems in the civil rights era. But what I have concluded is that, while they are not overtly showed in todays world, they are still there. They are just in the shadows, quietly sneaking up when the perpetrator deems it safe to do so (ie in groups/on the internet). And on occasion showing its ugly self completely, reminding us that its not gone forever and that it'll be back soon.

Its not completely one way (white to black), its everywhere, but I've only experienced this...thus why i speak on it. All this just from a chat room in a online poker room.....its kinda comical, but when I read it, it left me with a "what the hell" type of feeling, the did he/she just say that kind of felling. We are all lulled into this false sense of security and a feeling that "everything is better" then something like what i mentioned comes unexpectedly and you are brought back down to reality with a crash. Your naivety is then realized and you are shocked.

Maybe its cus it just happened to me that I sound a lil resentful, but remember that scene from the movie White Chicks? where they are all in the car and the N-word is said. At first a sense of shock is presented by the group.....but when the point that there are none of "them" around, they all get the green light and say it.

It couldn't have been far from the truth.

As long as "they" aren't in front of you/around you.....its ok. sad.

anyways.....i dont want to dwell on this too much, its too late and my thoughts arent all there, ima be droppin another one going more indepth but.....

Moral of the story, closet racists are EVERYWHERE. Why are they closet? is it cus they are afraid? of the victim? of society's response (Don Imus)? I don't know, but I really don't like it. matter of fact...I HATE IT.

Superman Shaq to the Rescue!!

Well Well Well.....WHAT A WEEK!!!!

Steve Kerr had some balls on this one for his first move!

The Phoenix Suns, yea MY TEAM, have traded away grossly underrated Shawn Marion and the extremely over paid Marcus Banks to the Miami Heat for the, these days, often hobbled Shaquille O'Neal. While this trade looks ridiculous right off the bat, and while it also looks like a knee-jerk reaction to the Lakers aquisition of Pau Gasol. I can assure you (maybe not 100%, more like 65%, maybe??) that it is not either of those.

First off, every team Shaq has been on has either a) went to the finals or b) won the championship. I'd say that by itself is pretty incredible, the fact that, simply speaking, having Shaq on your team guarantees you a spot in the Finals. And in the case of the Heat, the second year he was there.....THEY WON! Ok, I think that point is taken care of.

Secondly, Shaq, being 35, unhealthy as of late, and well....being 35, will not be of any use to the suns in their style of offense.....WRONG. The Phoenix Suns have possible THE best training staff in the NBA. They have made Steve Nash look like he is 26 again.....seriously, hes old, yet still a BEAST. Amare Stoudamire had the worst knee surgery you could possibly give an athlete......and look what he's doing. Also, last time I checked, you didn't need your entire line-up running down the floor for a fast break. No need for him to race with anybody....all Shaq has to do is

1)get the board
2)pass to ball handler
3)either watch magic happen or
3b)slowly jog back down in case the defense is back already

If you can just do that all night. There's no reason why the suns have to change their game. And if they dont get the fast break, slow it down, set it up, and see what he can do. Honestly speaking though, he's not gonna be the first option....or the second, or third. Maybe fourth. But definately fifth. If nothing is open for the shooters, dump it in to him, let him work or pass it out for an open three. It sounds easy when I break it down......and its equally easy in practice too. Trust me, im and NBA player......lol, jk.

The Diesel has also promised that he will not let anyone down....saying he will show up to the trainers everyday to ensure everything is in proper order. And going from the worst team in the Eastern Conference to the current number one seed in the West has given Big Shaq a new lease on his career (i felt like saying life, idk why lol) atleast till the end of his contract.....which brings me to my next point....

Money.

Marion would have been owed nearly 17 million dollars next year and Marcus Banks another 4. Shaq is owed 20 million for the next two years. So actually, they would be saving money in the "now". But in the long run, banks has 2 years left for about about 10 million total and Marion's contract will be done after next year. Thus putting the Suns over 10 million in the long run. BUT WHY SARVER????

you ask.

I respond.

The suns have gone with Nash, Marion, Amare for the past 3 years....only to get their hopes and dreams crushed by a much bigger Spurs team in the Conference Finals of 2005 and by the Mavericks in 2006 and not even make it there in 2007. It was time for a change. That coupled with the fact that the Suns were desperate for a effective big man, after trading away Kurt Thomas, and looking to deal Marion due to his recent grumblings. (which i'd have to say is warranted since he is a BEAST that gets no love outside of PHX)

Did the LA trade have everything to do with this...no. Did it have something to do with it....yes. Amare has always wanted to return to his natural Power Forward position and who better to play along side with than your close friend (Amare's known shaq since he was 13). Nash lobbied hard for Garnett earlier in the year....and ended up with Shaq.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

So with the promise Shaq made to the fans of PHX by pointing to his ring finger during the epic Hornets/Suns game (Feb. 7, 2007), I pray to god this works out just like i said.........cus if not.

I don't want to go there.

And of course, this post wouldnt be complete without a farewell gesture to my main man Shawn "The Matrix" Marion. These years have been fun watching you grow into THE most underrated player to grace the NBA. Your defensive skills and sick ass dunks will be missed. And you were on pace to break A LOT of Suns records. Good luck in S. Florida and hopefully you can contribute to them, cus god knows they need it. And before I go, heres a little Marion highlight reel.............PEACE!!

I almost shed a tear.......versatility at its finest!

Wardrobe Malfunction

This is almost 3 years removed from when he tied the record for most 3 point FG's in a game. ahhh classic moment. and lebron is having the time of his life. no wonder why you dont play Marsh....jk. If you read this, I LOVE YOU DONYELL....GOOOO CAVS????.........(really though go phx and Marion).

Look at LBJ's watch though? WOW. I wonder if he even has spent his money from his NBA contract.....I mean his Nike Contract pretty much has him set for life......damn i wish I was a beast like him, lol. oh well.

T-Pain likes meat

This video is like a year old but I just saw it yesterday.....lol.

...........no...........i think the only words that could explain this here situation would be the words Reilly Freeman, from Boondocks fame, would use - "nigga....you gay!"

atleast he's being honest......

The Truth.

The Manifesto (in writing, read along....)-

"lights out !" : an open letter to the record industry & the idiots who work for the fascist regime .
read this out loud !

this is intended for all of you lowly puppets who sit in your big offices in big buildings that will soon be out of business & thus, forced to hold vacant memories of an industry that once was . this is for all of the big wigs in suits & ties who sit at the head of the conference room table with creative opinions as empty as the "music" they force down the throats of the now bored & uninspired creative consumers . this is for all the idle assistants who only work hard enough to get their names on the grammy party lists, or whose only existence remains obsolete if he/she can't get into the hot new band's hollywood show debut . this is for the borderline retarded a&r guy who should in fact abandon his dreams of changing the failing record industry to become a highly paid talent scout at a modeling agency . this is definitely for all the marketing low lives who fail to avidly push great talent because the world's fave reality slut randomly decided one day while botoxing her armpits that she wants to be a rockstar .

yes .
this open letter is for all of you .
come feast your eyes upon the truth behind your insolence for 5 minutes , if you even have your job for that much longer.

your blatant lack of respect & worship for the oldest & dearest artform has brought a once thriving & artistic industry to a grinding halt . your willingness to believe that the world wide web has killed the consumers' thirst for new & exciting talent is wildly ignorant & safe . you would like to feed into this stupidity because you are too lazy to stand behind substance ; you'd rather take the low & easy road than take the time to nurture true talent . you'd rather tirelessly feed us the same carbon copied , lip synching , sex dripping , faux punk "i got my entire outfit from hot topic" rocker , buffoonishly ghetto "are they even speaking english?" hip hop , "same old same" sound from song to song type image & force us to believe that this is all the world's artists have to offer . you'd rather watch your company stocks & yearly record sales severely plummet than take strong initiative to fix the current problem . you'd rather see hundreds of employees laid off & out of work during the holidays because you're too afraid to stand up for something new & different . you're content with creating a 1-hit wonder society , where any idiot with anything shockingly catchy can enjoy a sorry 15 minutes of fame & a future segment on vh1's "biggest 1-hit wonders of 08" extravaganza .

where is the new generation of legends ?

beyonce & alicia keys are old shoe ins . r kelly , sure , but his personal dramas easily overshadow his genius . radiohead & outkast comes to mind , & then i draw a big blank .

the latest thrill in music has been an over abundance of great dancers with mediocre voices , albums , singles , concert ticket sales , etc . thank god the internet allows every joe blow in the universe a free forum to overexpose every little thing , especially mediocre celebrities . thank god for online music forums , such as myspace . artists are able to directly connect with the people & expose themselves & their art to everyone everywhere at the click of a button . myspace proves that music can no longer fit into a box . long gone are the days of urban vs pop vs alternative radio . gwen stefani had hit songs for years on the pop & alt charts , but she records a song written by pharrell & she's instantly on top of the urban charts as well . this new r&b dance pop music crosses over to white kids & that kelly clarkson "since you've been gone" song was smeared across the lips of many a young black girl last year . m i a is all over the indie alternative stations , & lets not even get started on gnarls barkeley .

all signs point to the obvious : true music consumers right now are a ) young , & b) smart . young kids are able to point & click their way to every new trend . they arguably have short attention spans & they want to be in on what's cool & personable to them . when madonna emerged in the '80s you had tons of girls around the world imitating her every move & style down to the mole . kurt cobain turned grunge commercial when he was exposed to millions of kids who felt like society's outsiders looking in . hip-hop has been a huge influence on mainstream culture since the early '80s because of it's relativity . kids have not changed . young people are not mindless robots who like what you tell them to like with no opinions . the youth are always looking to be enthralled .

they want to be entertained . they want to feel as though they are a part of something that will be written about , studied , & revered 20 years later . they , like all of us old & young alike , want to be inspired . when i was a kid i saw prince prance around on stage & dazzle people with his art & i felt inspired to do the same thing . why are you music industry idiots attempting to tell us that we don't want to be touched ? why are you trying to rob us of new musical experiences ? will there ever be another motown 25 / michael jackson moonwalk experience ? will we never again hear a single like queen's "bohemian rhapsody" on the radio because the hook isn't catchy enough ? will we never see another band like the talking heads & joy division or parliament ? will there never be another artist to rival frank zappa ? will we be forced to hear different versions of the same dumb song on every single radio station every 5 minutes simply because the record label had enough money to pay off the station manager ? are we still supposed to care about mtv when there are hardly any videos in rotation ? do i even need to mention b e t or v h 1 ? are any of the classic record industry outlets working these days ? as of late it seems that artists are independently breaking ground with their own efforts . songs are being licensed for national commercials from artists' myspace pages & personal websites . ellen degeneres has been known to book musical guests from videos seen on youtube , & as i aforementioned , gnarls barkeley not only created a new genre , but they also won grammy awards for an album that was recorded in home studios & released through an indie label .

why should artists even seek major label deals ? they are completely outdated & obsolete . artists are sold the dream that talent can secure superstardom , but it becomes evident that labels only sign bands nowdays because of the band's existing fanbase & record sales , or because they dig the artist's look & want to cash in . they don't want to develop the art . they don't want the artist to express his/herself entirely . they just want the artist to comply with what will get the company a big monetary return . they sign you for millions , pimp you for pennies , then drop you a year later when the music they made you record & release is no longer relevant . you're left on the streets unsigned & irrelevant & ready to infect the world with the music you've always wanted to make , but no one will take a chance on you due to your previous material . meanwhile , the label has already put white out over your signature on the slave deal & replaced it with a younger version of you . cold game , ain't it ?

the age old model is failing . as an industry based on faithful consumers you have lost your connection with the people who matter most : the PEOPLE . you have yet to show them that you are with the changing times & able to adapt to something new . you are proving that you are too afraid to promote good music . you would rather let the monotonous drone of what is today's music remain unbalanced by substance . you would rather watch more legendary artists abandon you for direct deals with itunes & touring companies . you would rather allow the internet to defeat what should be your life's work . maybe you should excuse yourself from the next a&r meeting to go take a look in the bathroom mirror . stand there & ask yourself why you took this job , & when you realize it's simply because you wanted to be cool & "in the mix" then return to the conference room , take that gun out of your pocket , & shoot yourself in the head in front of your coworkers so that you are made an example of . if you can in fact leave that conference room & look in the bathroom mirror with pride & hunger to break the monotony then head back into that conference room , jump on top of the table & read this manifesto .

this is a challenge .
we're calling your bluff .
record labels are nothing but banks that give artists hi price loans in exchange for artistic control . put your money where your cocks are . go out on a limb & support real music for a change . find the line where the internet & the real world meet & infect more people with something magical . start building more legends . it's almost too late . interscope is dead . def jam is next . motown who ? mca what ? warner , you're not too far behind . the war sirens are ringing & you're content with playing deaf & dumb .
we're calling your bluff !
we're here to reprogram how you & the rest of the world listen to music .
we can do this together , or you can stick to your own devices & peril in the process .
we are the people . we are the future . we are the present .
who are you ?

*******************************************************************

copy this , paste this , & repost it wherever you see fit . email it to those who you believe can benefit from somethin like this . this is from the heart in jerry maguire "who's comin with me?" fashion . lets open our eyes , our ears , & our hearts . lets stop standin for the bullshit & start demandin these idiots to take charge & make change . substance has the right to be heard . support real shit & start takin it to the streets !

c'mon people .
it's 2008 . diddy killed music in 94 . it's time for some better shit .

pass it on . . .

THIS....was greatness.

Done Did It Again

After the popularity of his first video of him doing the Soulja Boy song with his drums, Travis "ima beast on the drums" Barker re-uped and did this........

Low by Flo-Rida
THE REMIX

I need to go cop Rockband and get my drum playin skills in line haha. But seriously, that was good.

On another note, although Flo-Rida isn't anything worth listening to musically....His name is seriously one of the most creative ones I've ever seen. Now if only he can transfer that to his lyrics................

pause

This is old but gets me everytime lol.

They were both so very close to saying "no homo" that gus johnson actually replaced it with "pause" HAHA.......classic moment in sports journalism.

now, you may ask "no homo" i hear that everywhere but dont know where it came from. Well, thanks to our friends over that Youtube (actually some guys channel) you can now be educated in the origins of the all to easy to use phrase of "no homo".....
