I'm going off my blog from earlier.

By Our I mean our great nation called the United States of America.

All the trials and turbulation this country has been through, all of the conflict that many people were a part of, all of the questions of equality for all as stated in the Constitution, are about to come to the highest point in America's history. We are about to break a barrier that has been set above this nation's head for so long, impregnable by any who tried.

Until Now.

I do not want to get ahead of myself right now since there is still time and electorates left, but the way it looks like, we...WE are going to win this thing.

The first Black President is such a great accomplishment....beyond any words. But the path taken to reach this golden goal should also be noted as amazing. Obama brought together people of many walks of life, young and old, black, brown, white, and asian people, blue and white collar people....any type of demographic you can think off, AND even the crossing of party lines. Obama's campaign brought them together; unification of this country

My cousin, who before his untimely death, was the biggest Obama supporter of anyone I knew. The fact that he is not here with us to witness history being made is the only damper on the situation that is seriously incredible.

What do I feel right now. With the Democrats up 207 to the Republicans 135 in the race to 270 electorates, I am feeling a subduded sense of excitement. It's weird how I was so confident and yet so nervous. I can't explain it and I can at the same time haha. (stomach begins to flutter).

My first time.

Obama, Obama, Obama.....

At about 8:15 am AZ time, I stood at the little table and voted for the next president of the United States and damn did it feel good!

Me and my dad went and stood in line for about an hour and a half; We didn't do the early balloting because I wanted to experience the whole voting atmosphere (read: it was my first time!) and my dad didn't just so he could come with me lol.

Anyways, as I got the ballot I got a sense of nervousness, not because I thought I was going to mess up but because, for the first time ever a president of African American descent was on the ballot with a legitimate chance to win.

It was an almost surreal moment for me. I was all smiles. I finished before my dad and waited for him in the car. When he saw me he asked why I was acting all happy, i simply said 4 words in response:

I JUST MADE HISTORY!



P.S. - Some lady thought she could register at the polling place. After about an hour of standing in line one of the polling officials told her that she couldn't vote because she didn't register ahead of time. She got all mad and walked out. lol. Thanks for the effort but...come on now.

Oh No He Didn't......Yes He Did!

Seeing that I missed the final presidential debate this past wednesday, I ended up watching the entire thing on quite possibly the greatest website ever created.

While watching it though, I couldn't help but notice the following point of the debate:



Question - Was this the turning point of the debate.
Answer - Yes

I think after that moment of shear bewilderment on McCain's part showed that his highly agressive and (what seems like) pre-planned attacks, have backfired. Badly.

His facial expression just screams "oh dear god, he got me."

and so I, Shadow, will humbly say this on behalf of Barack Obama directed towards the McCain/Palin camp:

GOT 'EM!

Electoral Sentiment

So as I was getting ready to go to bed, I was informed of a heated discussion that was taking place on the myspace message boards regarding this year's presidential candidates. Seeing that I don't have a profile anymore on myspace, I asked if the bulletin postings could be emailed to me, just for my own entertainment. What I read was something that was completely uncalled for, it went as follows:

"OBAMA= great speaker
HITLER= great speaker

both said what they needed to say to get where they wanted to get and then we found out all the lies hitler told, hopefully we dont make the same dumbass mistake those people did.."

Ok, now take a moment and take in the gravity of the statement.

Democratic Presidential Nominee Senator Barack Obama(IL) being compared to one of, if not THE, worst leaders in the history of the world.

soley on the basis that they can both speak well. Excuse me? If you are reading this and are simply appalled by the statement, then you're not alone. By reading the statement one can only assume that the writer is trying to say the following things

First - if you are a great speaker, and want to be a world leader, then you are like Hitler

I can speak pretty well, and so could Ronald Reagan......

Second - any politician who says "what they needed to say to get where they wanted to get" is a second coming of Hitler.

lol, in that case, leaders the globe over are Hitler 2.0's

Now hopefully this was just someone's idea of a joke. A sick one. But a joke nonetheless.

As already known I am an Obama supporter, and while I do not agree with everything he states, I do believe that his proposals are better for this country than those of Senator McCain (R-AZ).

This entire thread brings light to something that turns me off from political debate completely: People making wild/crazy/often offensive statements about one candidate or the other. Like I stated it could be a joke, which I highly doubt, or, more likely, people talking about issues that they are either vaguely familiar with or not at all. And this is what scares me about the outcome of this election. Too many people are going to go to the polls on the day in November and cast their vote for a candidate based on emotion/race/what the news stations said/who their friends(family) are voting for. That, that uneducated, borderline ignorant mindset is what is going to determine this election. At least in my opinion....which is the purpose of my blog

Thomas Jefferson's dream of a completely enlightened electorate is not close to being achieved if certain portions of that electorate still are thinking like this.

In closing, if your vote is going to be influenced by what I mentioned earlier....then you should not vote. If you're not smart enough to go out and do your own research and/or watch the many speeches and debates to form your opinion, your right to vote should be revoked.

Ok maybe not that far, but serioulsy people, this kind of slander isn't necessary and puts a serious dent in your intelligence level in the eyes of others. Simply put, that was dumb.

If I was to ask you what the economic/foreign policy of either candidate is in your own words...would you be able to answer? Exactly.

Some grocery store owner thought it would be tight to depict Presidential hopeful Barack Obama as a monkey, Curious George, but a monkey nonetheless.

Sometimes I wonder if people are just wanting attention or if they really really really are being more outward with their remarks.

Now im all for talking about race and being open about it.....but not when the converstation starts with someone making a snide comment about another one's race. Comments that are feuled by stereotypical/racist thoughts. And those comments are usually said in a way where the speaker tries to come off as sincere.

Thats when I really start to get angry. Luckily I havent been in such a situation in my life, and hope to never be confronted with such a situation. In the mean time, I will just continue to hear/see people hate another for superficial reasons.

It's never gonna end is it.....

So I was on my nightly safari through the internets [(c) Stephen Colbert] and I stumbled upon this article over at BBC.com which was titled "Obama sorry for 'sweetie' comment"

I continued to read this article and could not help from laughing. Why is this such a big deal? Last time I checked, if you called a girl sweetie, especially in the tone he used it in, it doenst come off as demeaning. In fact its more endearing isnt it? I mean I've had people tell me not to call them ma'am, and thats understandable cus it makes them seem old. But whats wrong with "sweetie?" Does that make you seem too young?????? ahhhhh, this doesnt make sense.

Also, I know this is the presidential race and everything but every day I turn on the T.V. or read a news article, they are constantly pin pointing on something so small about Obama. I mean the thing he said about some americans and their habit of clinging to guns and religion........I didn't know it was cool to not tell the truth. Last i checked gun toting religious fanatics was just a way of saying Republican. Right?

After watching the clip of the video being made one comes to the conclusion that.....he was sincere. And the only thing that warranted an apology was the fact that he didn't answer the question. Which, if you heard the apology, he said he took care of and if she had any more questions - to contact him whenever.

Another stupid issue resolved.

Well, so much for me writing more often on here.....school has a way of making you do things you dont want to do. Or maybe its the 6G's I drop every year to get brainwashed into being another pawn in the game while being encouraged to "find myself" and then being told that what i found isn't in tune with what society has laid out for a young black male such as myself......but thats neither here nor there lol. Lets get down to business!

So while I've been gone, The suns finally found how to win with Shaq, only to lose to the referees..scratch that..the pistons one day and then to get blown out by the Celtics. NICE!

50 cent officially buried Fat Joe and to an extension, the ENTIRE terror Squad........lol not a huge feat. If Fat Joe had the beat selection of say.......Canibus......then no one would even know who he was. period.

umm....Barack Obama gained the support of Bill Richardson to much criticism of course.....a black man and a mexican, working together.......no way.......lol, YEA  WAY. I don't know what is so surprising about his endorsing of Obama, I mean the fact that he left the Clinton party shouldn't be a huge topic, thats politics brothers and sisters. You scratch my back I scratch yours, but if i see a better back scratcher then you, I'm gonna jump on their ship. Thats how it works, plain and simple, and if it was a white guy, it wouldn't be such a big deal. But he is Mexican, a person of race seen as leaving the white man and jumping onto the minority ticket.

and an after thought, I hate how people are saying that they are gonna vote for Hillary just because she is married  too Bill. Thomas Jefferson's enlightened electorate theory seems like its coming to fruition..................i was just joking yall.....sadly.

And to my boy Yonny......we'll see how much of an impact "super delegates" have on the final decision, I'm already planning how I'm going to use that 50 dollars yo haha.

This argument has been 12 years in the making. Its obvious that the 5-0 in NY, LV, and LA (and everywhere else for that matter) just dont want people to know.....so just drop it. Its like asking who killed Kennedy really, "no body" knows.

The Roots aren't releasing Birthday Girl in America as a single after supposed fan feedback saying essentially "no we dont want none of that".....so only Europe they say will hear it as a single. oh well, it was a dope track, but thats just my opinion.....my lonely, roots music loving, little opinion...moment of silence............
